Had such high hopes for him but he just seems to be drifting down the loan after loan road now.

Other than the injuries, I think being a little lightweight was also a factor, meaning he couldn't cement a place as there's clearly a player there, but think the Villa loan was the final nail in the coffin, perhaps if there were no clauses in the deal he could have really kicked on.

Hopefully Valencia allows him to do that now. Decent lad, good player there. Can see him going to Italy next year.

I remember Elliot having a broken leg a few seasons ago. He was ahead of Jones, but during recovery Jones went ahead, hence a loan sale to Villa.

Nice chap. Elliott always said the right things but just a squad player, not an impacting player.
