Evening all.

Lots of talk on here at the mo about ITK's getting grief about posting rumours.

The only little snippet of a rumour i ever posted was years ago about Brad Smith.

Small rumour in the big scheme of things but it did turn out to be true.

When i posted it i did wonder if it was true, would the circumstances change, were people interested? But i posted anyway as it was a Rumour site and without posters and ITK's there would be no forum. It's like a community. I have seen jokes, #£@# Taking, support for people, and of course the Ed's. None of which would exist without rumours.

You don't have to believe anything people post, but it does not mean you have the right to judge or critisize someone who posts rumours.

We have thefeilds, carra, VV, Window cleaner and Regular posters to numorous to mention. Just sit back and enjoy.

I do.

20 Apr 2026 18:39:27
Good post, Wiltshire, I fully agree. If you treat everything as a rumour, then you've no reason to get angry at someone if it doesn't materialize, and no reason to call someone out for it. We could all use a lil less anger in the world, even if it's just the world of Liverpool rumours.

Agree5

20 Apr 2026 18:41:19
I love it when we get a rumour. Such a rest from all the other stuff that's become quite tiresome.

Agree3

20 Apr 2026 19:42:53
Exactly, Rugby. I have no idea why people get so hung up on these things, to the point of getting angry at posters. It's a rumours page, is it not?

Ed033 can we do a poll on.

Slot to stay

Slot to go

Don't mind

Thank you

Slot Poll

20 Apr 2026 17:39:06
Is this for if or when he loses to Palace on Saturday?

Agree1

20 Apr 2026 17:46:57
After being a supporter of him getting time to change early on in the season, since about November, I have been wondering how on earth he has managed to keep his job.

Agree7

20 Apr 2026 17:52:03
🤣 Another knee slapper from Florian. How does he come up with this stuff week in week out?! We're in the presence of comedy genius.

Agree6

20 Apr 2026 18:29:16
We had a poll few weeks back. Forgot the % but hardly anyone wanted Slot to stay, apart from the obvious ones.

Agree3

20 Apr 2026 18:37:53
A Slot troll. 😆 I'm probably full of "toxic positivity" as well, am I?

Agree1

20 Apr 2026 18:43:53
Toxic positivity, forced optimism, false hope, denial, delusion... you could apply many terms... Personally, I have a soft spot for "Florian's Tyranny of Positivity", good title for a book.

Agree4

20 Apr 2026 19:46:23
Strom, just voted Slot Out and it is 92% saying he should go.

Clearly, for some in our fan base, that is a minority.

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 19:58:27
Not clear of the question.
Is this "now" or "at the end of the season"?
Is this our prediction or our wishes?

Me, I think he should go in the summer.
Zero point in sacking him now.

Agree2

20 Apr 2026 20:02:24
The question is who voted stay. Or, as Kent Brockman would say, there is a 5% margin of error.

Agree3

20 Apr 2026 20:17:21
Let's take it one game at a time FM.

Sorry Ed033 you'll be flat out. 😂

Agree1

20 Apr 2026 21:12:00
Wat even is a Slot troll? And how can an LFC be one? 😆

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 22:11:01
Oli, I thought it would have been more. Wonder who kept voting for him to stay hahah.

Agree1

{Ed025's Note - maybe 100 Florians Strom ?.. :)

20 Apr 2026 23:16:44
Ed025, definitely hahah

Agree0

21 Apr 2026 06:40:50
Better things to be doing i'm afraid Ed😆

Agree0

{Ed025's Note - just a bit of bants mate.. :)

21 Apr 2026 09:54:27
And we all need a bit of that. 😁

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 16:10:39
Just a thought. How would people feel if this happens?
Man City win the league, Guardiola decides to leave on a high. We manage to finish in the top five, maybe even 4th. The club decides to stick with Slot and Alonso joins Man City. Iraola takes over Man Utd as some have speculated.

Hoeness goes to Chelsea maybe. Guess what it boils down to is the board if they keep Slot have to be 100% sure he can turn things around, because if we get to October and things so badly, options then will very thin.

20 Apr 2026 16:42:30
How would we feel? Angry, frustrated, disappointed, apathetic, depressed, cynical, pessimistic? Probably some other negative feelings I have missed.

Agree11

20 Apr 2026 16:52:39
I'd be genuinely interested in how much if the fan base wants Slot to continue. We seem pretty unanimous on here, most social media stuff is similar & match going fans seem apathetic, to say the least, in support of him.
If discontent is as widespread as it appears, surely FSG & LFC board cannot simply ignore it.

Yes, it's their decision & they will do what they think is right, but if your customers want change & are unhappy, they'd be wise not to ignore it..... especially with what they see on the pitch - surely they can't look at performances & results on the pitch & go mmm more of that please.

Agree4

20 Apr 2026 16:55:18
If Pep leaves City and joins us that would be majestic.

Agree3

20 Apr 2026 17:15:38
Pep leaves, Kompany replaces him and Alonso goes to Bayern. Wouldn't surprise me.

Agree6

20 Apr 2026 17:27:49
U just created the absolute mother of all worst case scenarios, cos LFC would really have no real quality managers out there to take on the mantle.

The only thing I want to know is if every fan can see that getting new players won't change how LFC play, as the manager has shown that. Why can't they see it?

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 17:25:05
It's very easy to have opinions skewed by what we hear here, as certainly when it comes to Slot, we are a bit of an echo chamber.

Not sure about the rest of you, but my Liverpool banter fix is, 90% of the time, on here.

When I speak to my Liverpool supporting mates, no one is as anti-Slot as I am (now).

So, in answer to Nutter's question, my experience seems to imply that the unanimity that we (generally) show on here that we want Slot gone is not representative of the wider fan base.

Why? Well we have people who go to every game, plus the Eds, give their informed opinion here, whereas the vast majority of Liverpool fans around the world may watch the odd game and look at the results.

Agree2

20 Apr 2026 17:55:41
With all due respect, Zedd, I don't think any attention should be paid to the opinions of fans who tune in for the odd game. The consensus from pundits and ex-pros tends to align more with what's shared on here as opposed to the casual fan base.

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 18:33:29
Zed, when we played Leeds n drew I was watching it in the Lakes with a fellow scouser, n I was saying Slot has to go n he was adamant that it was too early, at the end of the game he was shaking his head n laughing, I think even the die hards want him gone now.

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 19:21:27
Slot wants to leave himself.

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 19:21:44
Nagelsmann.

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 19:26:45
All the talk is Maresca is lined up to take over from Pep.

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 19:47:43
OP, that would be absolutely infuriating.

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 21:24:52
Chewy, I agree. But Nutter asked whether all fans want him to go. I was giving a reason why that probably isn't the case. Not die hard fans like us, but most Liverpool supporting folks.... 👍

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 14:57:40
Ed, I know you're not keen on answering finance questions but if I might be able to ask you one please. When a player signs a new contract with their club, they obviously in most cases get a pay rise but would they also get a lump sum on top of that. Take konate for instance.

I'm assuming his wage will now go to around 200k per week if not more
Would he also get a lump sum of say x amount of million on top of that and would it be the responsibility of the player or the club to pay the agent who negotiated the deal on the players behalf. TIA

{Ed001's Note - they get what is called a signing fee but that is spread over the length of their contract. The player pays his agent a %age of his salary, usually 20%, that is the standard agent's cut.}

20 Apr 2026 15:30:37
Thanks. 👍

Agree2

20 Apr 2026 15:23:09
20% of his salary? That is incredible. Is that normal across sports?
Ed, do any dialed-in footballers handle their own negotiations?

Agree1

{Ed001's Note - it is normal across all agents in all forms of business. You have to remember that an agent will also employ a team of people, as well as having other clients (usually - Salah's lawyer, who acts as his agent though refuses to be called one, works pretty much only for Mo). But it is the standard in showbusiness etc, or any industry where an agent is used as a go between.}

20 Apr 2026 17:00:15
Lowe, KDB negotiated his final contract with City without an agent.

Agree2

20 Apr 2026 14:12:47
I do want to say thank you to the Eds, Carra, TheFields, Ned, Robbo and everyone else who try to give us factual and as up to date information as possible. They put themselves out there to give us information knowing there is a chance it could change and get torn apart for it.

People did this to Macca and moaned when there was no info coming in now they have done the same to Carra, TheFields etc who now seem to be stepping back also which I don't blame them we have done this.

How many times have we seen things change on a dime, Zubamendi didn't he have his photos taken with the shirt on before he changed his mind, how many others have been similar?

We can't expect this information to be completely 100% as we all know life isn't certain and things change within minutes of being true.

I love this site and hoping that all the people that do get some information stay around as I for one appreciate it.

{Ed025's Note - yeah me too SA, even the great ED002 got it wrong at times mate because things can change in the blink of an eye, its just the way it is..

20 Apr 2026 15:00:22
Exactly, SA and Bitter25 (Just kidding Ed25). Things can change and what our resident sources tell us at one time may not be what actually happens. That doesn't mean they are unreliable or liars or fake news specialists. It could just mean that the situation is/was fluid and another decision was made.

I have no idea why people go after our guys on here who courageously provide some information and shut them down for no reason because what they said did not happen. That is what got Macca outta here for years while Ed02 used to get abuse on here and had to leave the sight a few times.

Agree4

{Ed025's Note - spot on Oli..

20 Apr 2026 16:09:25
Oli, just my opinion on it. I think a lot of the haters are clout chasers. They love to come back and do the "told you it was bs".

Agree2

20 Apr 2026 16:30:00
Ed002, used to tell us where there was strong interest, never hardly said this is definitely happening

Agree2

20 Apr 2026 19:53:21
Strom, indeed Ed02 would say that yet, he would get abuse for no reason. Embarrassing.

@WestYorkshirered, I think there is a lot of that, as well. I just don't care about doing the "I told you so" nonsense at any level, regardless of the topic.

People are free to voice their opinions as others are free to critique them respectfully. That's it.

Not arsed about the rest, really.

Agree2

20 Apr 2026 13:44:02
Hello everyone. Hope everyone is fit and healthy, including your families! Anyway, a good win against the Old Enemy but not a great performance. A win is a win and we are 3pts closer to a guaranteed 5th spot.

Take care all. YNWA. 😁

20 Apr 2026 13:56:16
All good, Bazza. Great 3 points, alright. We'll make CL now, I fully believe. Thankfully. And The Town won again last Friday too!!!!. 🥳

Agree1

20 Apr 2026 14:10:19
Are we all on board that we want Spurs to get relegated or what?. 😂

Agree13

20 Apr 2026 14:15:23
I think 3rd place is up for grabs. We are only 3pts off the 2 above, and we play them both.

Agree4

20 Apr 2026 14:17:17
Definitely lfc8. 🤞

Agree3

20 Apr 2026 14:58:24
A great win, SG. I was in the Shead with the Town Ultras. 😂

Agree2

20 Apr 2026 15:02:24
I am, LFC08. I want some of their fans to be taught a life-changing lesson. To be taught for good that they aren't what they think and gassing up themselves to be.

Agree3

20 Apr 2026 15:43:42
It is funny that Arsenal and Spurs are trying to outdo each other on who is the Spursiest side in London. Spurs getting relegated is a strong contender for the title, but surely, Arsenal going on to bottle 4 competitions would top that? Going from the quadruple to the quattle is some achievement.

Agree5

20 Apr 2026 16:27:43
We need a versatile forward, and Bowen would make a great Jota replacement as he can play across the front three positions, for this reason alone, I would like West Ham to go down so we can nab him on the cheap.

Agree1

20 Apr 2026 17:04:51
Bowen turning 30 at the end of the year. LFC wouldn't be interested & he has a preposterous buy clause.

Agree3

20 Apr 2026 19:54:31
Bowen's time is well-passed.

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 13:12:56
Not to bring up the ITK argument again, but Szoboszlai saying he's not close to a new contract, although we were told he has signed one.

20 Apr 2026 13:51:45
Then don't bring up the ITK argument again. There is absolutely no need to bring it up again. Just start a thread with "Szoboszlai has been quoted saying that he is not close to signing a new contract" and get on with your life rather than trying to stir the pot.

Agree14

20 Apr 2026 13:55:41
Who knows, he might have been close and pretty much signed, but now decided to get better terms due to his influence on the team this year, or Real Madrid are sniffing, telling him not to sign a new deal and let his current one expire as they seem to do.

Agree3

20 Apr 2026 14:18:45
Wasn't trying to stir any pot. It was brought up a couple of days ago about ITKs and I haven't got a problem with anyone sharing anything. Chill out.

Agree3

20 Apr 2026 14:32:46
Not surprised, I never believed the claims he had already signed and suggested a while back that he would likely wait until the summer to assess his situation and that, in keeping Slot, we risked losing the likes of Dom. He's been so good and the team's been so poor that from his personal standpoint he'd be crazy not to wait and see what offers came in.

You can bet your house that's exactly what his agent is telling him too. And you can times all that by 10 if he's under the impression Slot is staying.

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 14:34:33
"Of course I see myself here in the long term but, as I say, it is not really in my hands any more.

This is the key bit, there are no doubt a few bits to iron out.

Agree2

20 Apr 2026 15:04:42
Indeed, No.8. This is typical talk during contract negotiations.

No new ground had been broken here, imo. Let the process play out.

Agree2

20 Apr 2026 15:32:31
To be honest, I think we can improve on him. While he is talented, I don't think he does enough on the ball. He should be the passing, athletic profile in our midfield. But too often he plays the safe pass, or shirks tackles. Yes he runs a lot, but he could definitely be doing much more. With Gravenberch already signing his contract, and Wirtz a near certainty to be in our XI over the coming years, if we want a balanced midfield unit, Dom is the position we could replace with a passing+combative profile.

To be honest, Dom is exactly the player who should be filling that role with aplomb, but he just doesn't do enough for me, apart from a few worldlies. While in no way do I want him gone (as maybe a new manager can unlock this on a regular basis from him), if we get the right replacement it could actually be much more beneficial to our structure long term.

Agree1

20 Apr 2026 15:33:41
Did anybody actually claim that he had signed? There was definitely talk of an agreement being reached, but that may just be verbal agreement which is still a little way off a new contract being drawn up and signed.

Agree1

20 Apr 2026 16:34:22
Shipley Kopite, the poster can write what he wants on here, no one tells you what to write, do they?

Agree2

21 Apr 2026 00:51:04
My goodness, if we're going to replace anyone in the midfield with a passing+combative profile, it should be Grav.

I can't actually believe what I just read.

Agree1

20 Apr 2026 12:44:10
I have sent the Arsenal players a load little blue tablets because they can't get past a semi.

20 Apr 2026 13:51:58
A couple of our own players could do with them, I think. 😒

Agree1

20 Apr 2026 15:05:09
Start with the manager, ArAy1969.

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 12:14:41
Pickford is the goalkeeping equivalent of Konate. Every now and again he will pull off a worldy, but other times he is a liabilty. Any half-decent keeper would have got to the ball before Salah for the first goal. For the second goal, the corner came straight into the heart of his six-yard box and he stood rooted to his line while VVD had an easy header.

On the subject of Konate, what are Hughes and Edwards doing trying to get him to sign a new contract? He is awful, and is now guaranteed at least one major mistake a game. His defending for Beto's goal was so poor. Even early on in the game, he allowed Beto to get across him for the header that Mamadashvili saved. He has no balance and is easily nudged over. For his size, he loses too many headers, and the fact that Pep Guardiola told his players to leave Konate free to receive the ball from the keeper tells you all you need to know about his ability on the ball. If Liverpool go into next season with Konate as first choice centre back, we may as well write next season off as well.

20 Apr 2026 12:38:43
I don't know, I feel like he could arguably have done better for the first goal, but other than that I thought he played very well. You say he is poor with the ball, but against PSG and last night there were actually a few instances where he played a pass forward with zip and pace to a midfielder's feet.

He isn't Virgil with an imperious passing range, but in the right system with players closer to him to pass to he is far from a liability on the ball.

Agree4

20 Apr 2026 12:50:02
PB, he was shocking for that Everton goal yesterday. He never once got back goal side, and it would've been a very simple piece of defending if he hadn't had a complete lapse in concentration. Robbo also could've defended 1v1 against Beto much better as well, as it looked like he tried to use his body to shield the ball across goal, but got outmuscled. A stark reminder that he's not what he once was, as I'd have backed Kerkez to stop that.

Virgil was marking a man on the edge of the box, but the pull back wasn't really on, so I feel like he should've bust a gut to get across the front post. Between the 3 of them, it was just weak. For their troubles, Mama is now out with a major wound to his leg, which is doubly frustrating.

Agree10

20 Apr 2026 13:06:01
The first goal Salah received the ball in the 18yd area.

Pickford wasn't "rooted to his line" for the second goal. He came off his line. There was a defender behind him, Garner was on the line.

Agree1

20 Apr 2026 13:11:09
The Everton goal yesterday was Robertson's fault.

Agree2

20 Apr 2026 13:59:10
Everton's goal was 100% Konate's fault. Robertson was trying to get across to cover Beto, who Virg had wandered away from and left completely unmarked, whilst watching Konate completely fail at basic defending.

Also, in fairness to Pickford he was having his shirt pulled for our winner so couldn't come off the line too far.

The thing that confused me was that it was an Everton defender pulling his shirt (presumably thinking it was a Liverpool shirt?).

Agree2

20 Apr 2026 15:12:05
I agree with you, MKS, on VVD and the first goal, but in another aspect. As a result, this is where I also disagree with @Shipley. From the beginning of the play, when the ball is passed in behind, VVD is playing everyone onside.

That is his first mistake, cos had he not done that and stepped up to meet where Konate was, the two Everton players making the run to overload Konate (cos Dewsberry-Hall was the spare guy who got the ball and crossed it), would have been offside, and nothing happens.

So, if you are expecting one player to handle an overload like that with 2 v 1, then you are being a bit harsh and unfair here. Just my opinion.

Agree0

20 Apr 2026 15:42:54
@Oli, VVD sets the defensive line. If Konate is not level with him, and has been sucked in too high up the pitch, that is on him, and it can't be considered as Virg playing them onside. Even if it had been caused by somebody else's mistake, Konate has to be better in those situations.

Don't get me wrong, you could pick 3 or 4 players who could do much better for the Everton goal, but for me, Konate made several mistakes in the lead up to the goal and was more to blame than the others.

Agree1

20 Apr 2026 16:31:49
Konate saves us another signing... I think extending him makes sense, but we need to use next season to bleed through Jacquet and Leoni... I would like us to start the season with VVD and Jacquet as CB pairing and hopefully end it with Leoni and Jacquet.

That would be my plan, but if Slot is the manager, it doesn't matter who plays as he has shown that he is incapable of improving players or even just getting them to perform on a consistent basis.

Agree1

20 Apr 2026 18:19:52
Everton's goal was the fault of Jones, Konate, VVD and Robbo. How is that?
