Hate to bring up City again but this slipped past my radar the other day, not sure how I didn't spot it so I thought I'd share for anyone else who missed it:

Manchester City handed out gifts worth £25, 000 to politicians from all parties from October 2014 to May 2025.

Meanwhile, the UAE has splashed out more than £467, 000 on hospitality for MPs from all parties over an extended period, with Labour the biggest recipient.


And that's just what's on the books. Can't imagine what's happening under the table. As I said previously, this scandal warrants investigation into parliament.

Signed a new deal in the summer. Will cost a lot to extract.

Good player who can dominate the right side. Would only question how good he is in a team that might have a lot more of the ball. Difficult to say.

I'm already on the Daniel Banjaqui train. :)

Barcola, the player he was up against, should have scored a hat trick. If our right back had allowed the opposition left winger that many chances you would have ripped him to shreds.

Not a great performance. Great result though. Great finish from Isak. Great few days for Ngumoha delighted for the lad. Few home games now hopefully we can put a run together.

The lack of intensity in our play and passing is a real problem, we seem to take so many touches and run the ball far to often rather than using quick tempo passing.

There are many players who deserve criticism but I also want to see what AI is doing, where are the patterns of play or is what we are watching the plan?? They gave a stat at the start of the game that Liverpool have the lowest big chance creation in the league so far and having watched every game so far it certainly feels that way!

007 Terrible win, we were losing up until the red card turned the tide. Yes its a win and 3 points but it doesn't fill you with confidence. Personally, I always felt things would take time to improve, but Downey has a point. There are major creative issues that need addressing.

Iraolas previous results with Bournemouth are completely irrelevant.

Brentford has not lost a home game since February!

Brentford beat Chelsea 3-0 in their last home game before the international break, I suppose that's all irrelevant as well.

Brentford had a full week's rest, LFC won with tired legs that doesn't matter either according to you suarez. Go and ask Alonso whether he wanted a horrible loss versus Brentford or a horrible win!

Yes completely irrelevant when we only won because they were down to 10 men for half the game. Don't confuse the result with the performance.

We had the better chances before they scored. I think we still would have won without the red card(s). We did what was needed.

No guarantees obviously, but I think Liverpool had the better chances and were the better team before Brentford scored. I think without the sending off we still score enough to win.

We barely scored enough to win when they had 10 men. We couldn't even score when they went down to 9. In fact, they looked more dangerous than we did even though they were 2 men down. Were it 11 v 11 for 90 minutes, we would have struggled massively to come away with a win.

Look, I'm happy we got the win, a win is always 3 points, 3 points is always a great result, but a great result is not always a great performance. We did fail to score when they were down to 9 men, and even then they still had us on the back foot on the break and we failed to really control the game the way you would expect for a team that finished with 2 extra men. There's nothing wrong with pointing that out.

I'm not expecting miracles, I've been saying since Iraolas appointment that improvements are going to take time and that given how poor things got under Slot, and with it being a World Cup year, I'll be much more interested in seeing how we perform at the back end of the season/start of the next. I'm not out here to crucify anybody but it doesn't mean I can't criticise either.

I honestly think as long as we got this midfield we ain't winning no silverware this season. the midfield has 0 chemistry. why was szobo even playing if he was still injured oh Yh maybe because we have nobody else. this is going to be on repeat all season no proper number 6, szobo and mac can't play together in the double pivot and wirtz can't click with the players around him.

not going to jump on Barcola as he is still fresh here but his finishing has always been quite off and that chance there proves it and it don't help that he's not being direct he could literally be our doku. might be a bit reactionary but being here watching this live you can see positioning and how pony we are right now.

I don't really agree bergenred, I think some people just have no time for politics in sport at all, which I understand and agree with for the most part. I'm completely against racism of course, but you won't rid the world of it by virtue signalling. A lot of black athletes refuse to take the knee for similar reasons. Pretty sure it began as one NFL player's refusal to stand for the national anthem as a protest over police brutality in the states. I'm not too sure what any of that's got to do with us.

Forgive me if I seem ignorant, but for me the beauty of sport is that it already breaks all barriers, no matter who you are, where you come from, or what troubles you may have, it all disappears the moment you step on the field, you're just another athlete, judged only by the measure of competition. There's a beauty in that I think should remain protected from the tainting of politics.
