Talksport saying Enzo to City is a done deal but Chelsea not going for any replacement this window?

2

01 Sep 2026 18:51:29
Horrible.Little man.

13

01 Sep 2026 18:54:24
Weird, Chelsea have a really thin squad. šŸ˜‚

13

01 Sep 2026 19:14:37
Well, they were odds on to go for Camara, Ron, given that Caicedo is out injured and Lavia is injury prone, so they are a bit light in that position atm.

3

01 Sep 2026 19:38:48
Chelsea tried late for Mac Allister but were rebuffed.

8

01 Sep 2026 19:18:15
Ron so thin, it is the equivalent to an NFL 53-man squad.

2

01 Sep 2026 21:00:37
I read that as Endo to City. 🤣

1

01 Sep 2026 21:09:55
Ndiaye to City as well now apparently, Everton having a mare of a window with their target from the US failing a medical according to reports.

1

01 Sep 2026 21:56:42
Camara to Chelsea confirmed, that’s disappointing as he’s a good player who we could have got.

2

01 Sep 2026 16:54:45
Liverpool will submit another offer for Minteh this evening, I’m told.
Circa £75-80m.

Crazy stupid if you ask me ????

12

01 Sep 2026 17:17:55
Nope, not going to happen, my mate. šŸ‘Ž

11

01 Sep 2026 17:18:38
Minteh will transform the team. His work rate on and off the ball is insane - he is so perfectly suited to Andoni ball. You been on Twitter again?

10

01 Sep 2026 17:38:08
Brighton have signed Chema and the Millwall winger. Minteh is coming.

6

01 Sep 2026 17:48:41
Minteh ain’t doing naff all. He’s injured and will need a pre season of his own.

It’d be a pointless signing when we could just revisit it in the winter window.

15

01 Sep 2026 17:49:11
Swampdonkey, Are you actually Jordan Peterson behind that account?

4

01 Sep 2026 17:56:01
I think Minteh has had a pre-season, but he’s going to take time to get up to speed.
Any signing would also take time. Barcola will take time to get up to speed.

Making signings on deadline day is generally foolish. Get your business done early and let your manager cook.

9

01 Sep 2026 17:57:12
Jordan Pickford more like.

0

01 Sep 2026 17:57:58
It's fine, Gakpo staying is like a new signing! He will play right wing with Munoz, Chiesa and Frimpong covering; Barcola, Rio covering left side and Ekitike and Wirtz can play from left. Szob can and should play on the right defence for now.

The questions will be center of the park. Can Nyoni step up and be the warrior we need in midfield? Kirkez still deserves a chance at left back. No way we're ever replacing him. It's up to the manager now to get a tune out of the team. No excuses.

8

01 Sep 2026 18:07:59
My main concern is right back, I just hope Gomez comes back quickly and stays fit.

I had just heard that we put a late plan offer for Gusto... so perhaps a late plan deal for a RB is on the cards if anything at all.

2

01 Sep 2026 18:19:38
Doms going to have to get used to the idea of being the new Trent. No way he has any clause saying where he should play. 300 a week means do your job.

2

01 Sep 2026 18:37:20
How are we in a situation already where Dom has to play right back?

Our midfield is not great but Dom is probably the best one of them and we’re shunting him out to right back again?

Gomez will not stay fit when he comes back to be relied upon - history tells us this.

7

01 Sep 2026 18:50:22
Szoboszlai can’t play in a midfield two. His best position in an Iraola team is right wing or right back.

8

01 Sep 2026 18:52:16
Dom is not a CM. He lacks discipline amongst other things. He should be on the right or rotating with Wirtz.

2

01 Sep 2026 19:00:06
As much as I would love a rb and a cm. I’ve felt from the Barcola signing being announced that we were done this window. I hate deadline day. It was always fun when we had our business done and I was watching other clubs sign players in a panic. Not so much fun when you actually feel like you need to do business.

Anyway onwards and upwards. We have signed very good to excellent players this window and with Iraola we have a good coach. We have also seen Szoboszlai signed a contract extension. Keeping Cody is good imo also. So it’s not all doom and gloom.

There’s no pfk or Jovanovic either, so there’s another plus.

3

01 Sep 2026 19:01:11
I think with a new gaffer it's totally fine to make the signings needed or move people on after preseason and all the way to the January window.
I'd rather identify what he needs that tell him what he has.

3

01 Sep 2026 19:12:10
I don’t think you can see Dom isn’t a CM.

He could definitely play in a midfield 3 if he has licence to push on.

I don’t think he is working now in this current midfield 2.

But AI’s job is to get a system that gets the best out of his players and gets results - there needs to be some pragmatism.

Either coach the players to learn the system better, or change the system.

Failing that, change the players, but that isn’t his job, and Dom isn’t being sold.

So he needs to find a solution with the players he has.

I don’t think the answer is to move him to right back.

3

01 Sep 2026 19:21:10
Swamp, Szobo can't play in the no. 10 either cos he is nowhere near as creative as Wirtz.

As for Minteh transforming our team, that's not gonna happen with a player who has scored less goals (9 in 66 for BHA) than Darwin did in his first season (15).

That's not a thing, I'm sorry.

Also, what is this obsession with signing a currently injured player? Bonkers this.

1

01 Sep 2026 20:05:41
Oli, Salah more than doubled his goal output from his last season with Roma in his first season with us, so why is it so unexpected that a player will put up better numbers in a different team?

He's also young, and put up big numbers when he was on loan at Feyenoord.

0

01 Sep 2026 20:51:36
Rugby, that same Eredivisie that people don't rate when it suits them? Slot and Gakpo were being berated for coming from that same league when it was convenient for them. Keep in mind, I'm not doing that here.

Secondly, and this is the simple part. Comparing Minteh to Salah or Mane is just blasphemy at this point.

That is cos Salah was levels above Minteh at Roma.

So was Mane at Southampton to the point that Utd. wanted him before we took him as our second signing the year after. You do know that Mane was our record signing that season surpassing Andy Carroll's fee, right? Exactly.

This is not rocket science, my man. It is that simple.

Afternoon Gents

Liverpool haven't rejected a bid for Gakpo

They have simply told City he will not be moving if they can't complete the signing of Sarr.

They're trying

Cheers.

36

01 Sep 2026 17:20:56
Robbo
I’m hearing Sarr is off and Minteh is the target with another bid closer to Ā£80m.

6

01 Sep 2026 17:24:31
Oh ho, we will see what happens when the window closes.

Thank you Robbo.

2

01 Sep 2026 17:47:06
Possibly both Minteh and Sarr...

2

01 Sep 2026 17:54:24
It’s the hope that kills you guys. 🤣

8

01 Sep 2026 18:36:08
Don’t want either, but Crystal closing winger from Danish team tells me Sarr will happen.

1

01 Sep 2026 18:41:26
I had assumed City going for N’Diaye saw an end to their Gakpo interest?

0

01 Sep 2026 18:53:33
Seems like City and Spurs have moved on so I’m not too sure who would sign him.

0

01 Sep 2026 19:23:28
80m for a currently injured player who has scored mighty 9 goals in all comps throughout his Brighton career, 6 less than Darwin did in his first season.

Incredible!

1

01 Sep 2026 19:45:51
Mental, isn’t? To top it off, he is out injured until mid-November, yet we have fans on their knees for this dude, lmao.

01 Sep 2026 16:47:29
Hi diddly Ho,

Gusto’s team have been shopping him around Europe the last few days.

Can’t confirm if we ever actually entertained the idea, but I’d very much doubt it.

Diddly out.

29

01 Sep 2026 17:13:54
Take him all day at 60m ish, the RB market isn’t great, but he’s good and still young.

1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - he is not good. Or even decent. Or average for that matter.}

17

01 Sep 2026 18:31:25
He’s muy malo.

0

01 Sep 2026 18:35:21
If he was going for 75 quid, it might stick.

0

01 Sep 2026 17:57:30
Not a fan Ed? . lol. Just getting a feeling 🤣

3

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - nor are any of the Chelsea fans on their site, he is not a good player by any stretch of the imagination.}

5

01 Sep 2026 19:24:37
So Ed01, what is the next level down from the levels you mentioned that Gusto belongs to?

Im dying to know.

Liverpool made a final push today to sign Malo Gusto on loan, but the attempt ended without success.

The Reds were only willing to consider a loan with no mandatory buy clause, while Chelsea were pushing for a permanent transfer.

Liverpool simply don't have the financial means to make a permanent deal happen.

5

01 Sep 2026 17:03:44
Not sure we have any spaces for foreign players left.

1

01 Sep 2026 17:48:05
More like we don't want to pay 75m for him on a permanent. And yes, Chelsea were asking for 75m. He's not that good.

3

01 Sep 2026 17:49:35
Malo Gusto is a northern name if I’ve ever heard one.

0

01 Sep 2026 19:25:04
Dom is levels above him and he isn't even a RB.

1

01 Sep 2026 16:43:49
It seems Liverpool made a late push for Gusto on a straight loan, however Chelsea wanted a loan with an option to buy which we declined.

3

01 Sep 2026 17:00:04
Option or obligation. If it was an option, it was a no brainer.

2

01 Sep 2026 19:29:50
DHfc, a no brainer? Nah. For those who have really seen him play, a no brainer, he is not.

He is poor and nowhere near Szobo, who isn't even a RB. Can't defend and lacks end product in attack.

Imo, cos we are in need of a RB, doesn't mean we should sign just anyone, esp. one who possesses the same flaws as the one we have.

1

02 Sep 2026 03:50:09
Gusto is worse than Frimpong from what I've seen.

0

01 Sep 2026 16:16:13
Hi all,

Liverpool have made one last late push for Minteh. Unlikely a deal happens but it's not totally off the table.

We will 100000% revisit this in January however and the players camp is well aware that a move to Anfield is increasingly looking like a matter of when and not if. Iraola really likes his profile.

37

01 Sep 2026 16:27:15
Cheers VG.

Brighton have signed Azeez, so it’s plausible.

4

01 Sep 2026 16:28:48
Really disappointed with the ending to this window, leaving Iraola short in areas of the team.

13

01 Sep 2026 16:35:31
Question is. Does everything change once the ownership swaps?

Seen it a million times before, new owners tend to rip up script, want their own manager and everything.

Who knows. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø New era.

3

01 Sep 2026 16:39:36
If this were true, then who do we get rid of last minute? Would it still be Cody? I believe we have no space left?

1

01 Sep 2026 16:47:47
We very rarely, if ever, ā€˜revisit’ a transfer and if we try, we fail, similar to Guehi. If it doesn’t happen this window, I’d suspect that is that with that player.

1

01 Sep 2026 16:49:09
Just wait until Jan, otherwise we're paying 2-3 months of wages before he'll be match fit to play.

4

01 Sep 2026 16:50:06
Surely Chiesa is unregistered?

1

01 Sep 2026 16:50:23
Get him now. Get him with the team and fitness team and in and around the squad, building relationships and used to his surroundings. So when he’s fit around Xmas/Jan he knows what’s expected of him and he can go straight in.

To me that’s common sense unless they have reservations on his injury, which I think the club can be excused for waiting until Jan then.

3

01 Sep 2026 16:50:50
Ironic that Brighton and Palace have both just signed right wingers when they don't need right wingers, but we need right wingers and have signed no one. After enquiring about both said clubs' right wingers, we were told no unless they get replacements, which they now have. Yet we're still not signing anyone, leaving us with no right wingers and them now with 2 each.

7

01 Sep 2026 16:51:45
Vinny O’Connor told to go home so no more incomings!

1

01 Sep 2026 17:41:03
They signed Chema also.

0

01 Sep 2026 18:11:24
Really don't see that. He clearly wasn't our second, third or even fourth choice after the Diomande deal broke out. If he was, we'd have gone for him even before he was injured. A lot of things change in 6 months and we have absolutely no evidence they rate him that highly.

1

01 Sep 2026 19:03:31
We revisited Guehi and that went well.

0

01 Sep 2026 19:31:05
Kloppiche, he shouldn't even be signed, injury or not.

Minteh is poor as heck.

0

01 Sep 2026 16:15:50
So Palace are hijacking Fofana and Brighton are signing the winger from Millwall.
Does this mean something is happening?

4

01 Sep 2026 16:51:27
I'm disappointed we haven't gone in for Fofana for that price. Really good winger with a high ceiling.

1

https://www.rangersrumours.co.uk/images/Ed0041.png avatar{Ed666's Note - he’s a left winger we have 3 of them

10

01 Sep 2026 17:24:08
And spent most of last season injured or unable to get a game.

2

01 Sep 2026 19:32:59
@Hughes, apparently injured players are no longer an issue for a lot of our fan base provided they are players we like.

The ones we don't like, as in Joe Gomez, get called every name in the book for being injury-prone.

2

01 Sep 2026 15:11:34
As crazy as this seems to type, but the noise around TAA and a return has just breached the planning regs in Madrid, without one official resolving it. It seems plausible.

3

01 Sep 2026 15:29:42
1000000000% not happening.

20

01 Sep 2026 15:29:47
He played very well.
Last game and assisted Mbappe.
They only have Dumfries who is injury prone.

6

01 Sep 2026 15:29:54
Given our current options I'd take him back but only on a permanent transfer, low fee and lower wages than he was on. It would certainly help unlock Isak.

6

01 Sep 2026 15:58:09
Desperate times...

0

01 Sep 2026 16:01:48
Nothing more than clickbait imo.

3

01 Sep 2026 16:05:49
Accept it lads. We're done for the window. We'll go with what we have.

2

01 Sep 2026 16:08:31
Dumfries is many things, but not injury-prone. It's just not backed up by evidence. He had an ankle issue last season and had surgery for it.

Not that he was ever the answer for us, but it was for other things. Not availability.

2

01 Sep 2026 16:35:34
I have little doubt he wants a return judging by a recent interview, but the lad had his chance. Still, he'd do a decent job but tough.
