I just don't see a future in the side for Gakpo He's been tried out wide and as a CF nothing seems to be working or maybe it's just the system

He is simply not good enough. We sold Diaz who was on 55k pw and kept Gakpo and increased his salary to 250k pw, one of the highest paid players at the club.

Rio is one of the few players that can be happy with his performance this season. He's far from the finished article but he has already won a lot of people over and I look forward to seeing him get better and better.

I think it will be scary to see this guy playing under a decent manager in a functioning system. He is the only player this season that was ever able to make a difference in a setup that completely isolates whoever plays through the middle. No supply, no support but still comes out of his first season with a lot of new fans having made an excellent contribution.
