3 points is the obvious objective and that's a great outcome but c'mon we really have zero killer instinct atm.

{Ed666's Note - Our transitions and counter attacks are absolute garbage. We were spoiled with Salah, Mane & Bobby.

17 Oct 2026 18:43:57
You can't have a transition with a tree like isak up there in the middle. Took his goal well infact brilliant but boy he punctured all our attacks just by standing like a tree in middle so much so that barcola looked bad making certain decisions because he just didn't want to pass to isak. He just keeps standing in between defenders.

Agree1

{Ed666's Note - what was barcolas excuse for the counter at the end? Isak wasn’t on the pitch

17 Oct 2026 18:55:22
Was Isak to blame for the late counter attacks failing after he was subbed off?

Agree7

17 Oct 2026 19:05:10
This is definitely the place to come if you want some negativity.

Agree15

17 Oct 2026 19:24:03
Wow did we let the throw in coach leave? As i watched our left back 4 times in a row throw it to a Brentford player, i don't think he was the only one either. good 3 points though well done lads. YNWA.

Agree1

17 Oct 2026 19:33:12
The most obvious chance barcola had made his mind to pass but koumas fell and that just resulted in a brain freeze for barcola.

You guys miss the point though, all counter attacks happened post isak none when he was on the pitch. that's the problem i am talking about. He just stands like a tree dead center.

Agree1

17 Oct 2026 19:53:36
Lost in fairness it was against 10 and 9 men.

Isak has lots of faults but crazily he's scored all of our league winning goals this season yet all he gets is pelters.

Agree6

{Ed666's Note - his shot for the goal was going wide hadn’t it deflected off the defender. He was pathetic today.

17 Oct 2026 20:19:56
We were shocking at counters and in particular Barcola showed some real poor decision making, I actually think Wirtz played ok today didn't do much wrong but wasn't a star performer either. Isak took his goal brilliantly but outside of those 2 touches did absolutely nothing. Biggest problem is Our attacking play has absolutely no fluidity, our speed of passing and play is way too slow and just allows the opposition to get back into a low block which then doesn't suit players like Barcola who operate best in space.

Rio and Munoz were real bright sparks and were very aggressive in taking on there defender!

Agree1

{Ed666's Note - Apparenty Wirtz created more chances today than he’s ever done in a Liverpool shirt? Can someone corroborate that stat please or correct me if I’m wrong?

17 Oct 2026 21:02:03
Problem is Barcola went through twice today 1on 1 with the keeper both times his decision making wasn't down to anyone except him.

Agree3

17 Oct 2026 22:28:14
"We really have zero killer instinct".

What are you talking about? We've scored 8 goals in the CL and PL in the past 4 days - both away from home and in the case of Brentford, a ream that hadn't lost a game this season.

The overwhelming criticism of the team, week after week and irrespective of results, is genuinely pathetic.

Someone asked 'should we be happy with the win' which is, when you think about it and given the team with the most points at the end of the season wins the competition, not the most perceptive question in the world. Of course, whoever it was then went on to say how poor we were and had a go at one or two players. There's nothing like getting behind the team and supporting the coach and players as they try to build something. This constant whining about a lack of perfection is sad.

Agree6

17 Oct 2026 23:34:05
Ed666 was It mate? In that case the league will surely award it as an own goal?

Agree0

{Ed666's Note - I thought it was going wide mate but my eyesight ain’t great and I’d still give Katie Price the best 3 seconds of her life and that includes foreplay and a cigarette

18 Oct 2026 04:47:39
I thought leaving out koumas after that lask performance is major question mark on iraola. He went for the price tag instead of continuing with a confident player.
Our attacks will work much better with koumas barcola munoz and wirtz. While this was just a theory before i think after LASK and 10min yesterday we can say we have enough proof supporting the theory.

Agree0

18 Oct 2026 07:27:13
The Isak shot was going wide? You sure about that mate?

Also I think Barcola's excuse was he was knackered at the end of the game, his hands being on his knees the last two counter attacks after running the length of the pitch kind of gave that away. Cue the usual 'he's a 100 million pound player, he should be able to play 180 minutes straight even if he didn't have a preseason'.

Agree0

18 Oct 2026 08:22:51

My f***...now Isak is blamed for our counters.

AAARRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

Agree0

18 Oct 2026 07:56:22
Ed666
3 seconds? You stallion lol.

Agree0

{Ed666's Note - What’s can I say mate I’m gifted

19 Oct 2026 10:56:42
@Fifth, you would thing we lost 3-0 like Chelsea and Spurs did at Brentford with many of the comments Ivebeen reading here and online.

For me, it's as if you are not allowed to be happy when your team wins while at the same time, recognising the flaws and the need to improve in areas A, B & C.

Frankly it seems like it has become some kind of badge of honour to rake your team and players over the coals after they win (esp. at a ground where nobody does) just to prove some kind of "I have higher standards for my club" nonsense that no one gives a crap about.

Really sad, indeed.

Agree0

17 Oct 2026 17:57:55
Another 90 mins on loan for Ndukwe last night for anyone that's interested. Could end up a great loan for the lad.

17 Oct 2026 18:54:53
Seems to have moved ahead of Mandi in the pecking order.

Agree1

17 Oct 2026 17:57:51
Only 3 points off the top- not too bad.

17 Oct 2026 18:13:16
PD, is this on the assumption that Cheaty get thrown out of the league this season?

Agree1

17 Oct 2026 17:30:21
So looks like a bit of trouble with these injuries.

17 Oct 2026 17:45:01
Cheer me up Scottie. we've just had an important win we have a squad in a transitional season that is doing great in the circumstances. Trey and Koumas have got opportunities to impress Jacquet, Araujo and Munoz have been great signings. have a coke and a smile kidder and relax.

Agree4

{Ed666's Note - I think Barcola could do with a Coke as it would speed him up a bit the lazy feck.

17 Oct 2026 17:52:48
Jesus we won. Glass half full eh.

Agree5

{Ed666's Note - There’s winning and there’s that

17 Oct 2026 17:55:50
Something tells me we won't be getting much positivity out of Postklopp🤔.

Agree2

17 Oct 2026 17:58:07
Weren't we in transition last season?

Agree2

{Ed666's Note - Somebody needs to explain what a transition is to Barcola

17 Oct 2026 18:26:47
I'm not impressed at all with Barcola so far. He should look at videos of Mane to learn a bit about how to play for LFC.

Agree5

17 Oct 2026 20:29:38
Yay, I asked on here a couple of weeks when the Barcola backlash would start. There's a lot of talk about transition but there's absolute zero tolerance if we don't play to any of the armchair critics idea of perfection.

Personally I find it intolerable when the opposition take it upon themselves to actually try and beat us - they should know that we have the right to just turn up and win - which, oddly, we did today.

Agree6

17 Oct 2026 19:21:06
Agree with you on Barcola Ed. I did say back during the window that I just didn't see what all the fuss was about with him.
Always a poor finisher but didn't realise he was as bad as he was today.
I know others will cite the LASK hat-trick but come on, they're awfu and today was the Premier League.

Just glad of the win today because I thought we'd get a draw. Yes it was awful and we often looked like we were down to 10 men.
When we did break, it looked like we left our brains on the halfway line.
Having said that it's a lucky 3 points, away from home and I'll take it.

Agree0

{Ed666's Note - I’m actually not worried about Barcola as I think he’ll come good but he needs a rocket up his ass and quickly. Klopp would have got him by the throat and would be squeezing the life out of him by now

18 Oct 2026 02:26:00
I don't think Klopp would ever physically assault one of his players, that sounds like the opposite of something Klopp would do.

Agree1

18 Oct 2026 08:24:39
Your reply to me made me laugh Ed666.

I enjoyed that.
The 3 strikers that ended the game yesterday should all go to that same class with Barcola.
Those counters were embarrassing to say the least.

Agree0

19 Oct 2026 10:59:11
Nah, Ed. There's only winning esp. in our situation going into that game, at that ground and against that team.

You may not like what i'm saying. But it's the truth.

Agree0

{Ed666's Note - I dont like it when we win lucky or ugly mate. It just doesn’t sit right with me. We’ll be Man United otherwise.

17 Oct 2026 15:26:38
Jeremy Jacquet = Fantastic signing.

17 Oct 2026 16:21:37
Full Metal Jacquet.

Agree10

{Ed025's Note - he was made of tissue the way he went down King..

17 Oct 2026 17:11:26
Working out better than the last outer garment - Coates.

Agree9

17 Oct 2026 17:17:59
Bradley Barcola = Pants pulled down.

Agree5

17 Oct 2026 17:21:32
Credit to Jacquet. Brand new league, new team and manager and hit the ground running.

Agree13

17 Oct 2026 18:14:01
Haha yeah Ed, i spoke too soon.
Maybe we can get him, Conor Bradley and Leoni on the pitch at the same time. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking.

Like a Centre Back 3 of Leoni, Van Dijk and Jacquet. A couple of quality wing backs up and down the flanks. Couple of centre mids, 2 wingers and a striker.

The first paragraph was wishful thinking, the second is pure delusion I think haha!

Agree1

17 Oct 2026 19:16:25
That was a ferocious headbutt ed25. It would knock a heavyweight clean out.

It is embarrassing to be fair when these things happen with barely a touch. Stupid by the Brentford player though. Sent off for stupidity as much as anything else.

Agree1

{Ed025's Note - I agree Davey. I just hate all the play acting mate..

18 Oct 2026 07:52:28
Can you play wingers and wingbacks at the same time?

Agree0

17 Oct 2026 15:58:49
On the flip side our midfield is weaker than a newborn lamb.

17 Oct 2026 17:11:06
It was weak enough for three points, if ye want jam on it go the supermarket!

Agree2

18 Oct 2026 04:33:34
Yet, surprisingly, we've won 6, drawn 3 and lost 1 out of our 10 competitive games.

The one we lost was lost initially because of poor refereeing.

We aren't far off - the new coach is doing fine - and you can see a genuine team emerging and this despite crap full backs a crap midfield and crap forwards

As I say some of the (now standard) criticism is away to hell and gone and has no real bearing of anything that's actually happening on the pitch.

Agree1

17 Oct 2026 15:58:16
Kerkez plays with half a brain and one leg.

17 Oct 2026 21:09:48
He has no composure.

Agree0

18 Oct 2026 04:35:22
But he has the backing of the UEFA qualified coach in charge of the team.

Agree2

17 Oct 2026 13:55:49
Here we go again, the dreaded double pivot with szboslaia and macca, which is not going to work.

I want to know when it will sink in with the manager.

Parting of the Red Sea starts at 3pm. This has to stop.

17 Oct 2026 14:06:33
The club needs at least one top midfielder to go straight in. Sobosli has to improve too a lot as a central midfielder.

Agree2

17 Oct 2026 14:30:08
Came in to post same thing. Its going to be dreadful.

Agree1

17 Oct 2026 14:34:30
More than that he has dropped koumas. His confidence must have been at sky high with LASK performance and isak hasn't played in 3 weeks - this is not great management.

Agree5

17 Oct 2026 14:48:33
This surprises you? It's the way Iraola has always played. Maybe Iraola is not the right manager for you.

Agree1

17 Oct 2026 14:56:34
That's fine having a fixed plan @ TFE, I think it's the personnel playing that plan is what the fans are concerned about.

Agree1

17 Oct 2026 16:10:59
Gravenberch missing due to suspension.

I don't know what it is but if feels like all the other teams have improved and even though we have bought players we still seem to need more. Like we are top heavy with wingers and Attacking Mids but still need to solidify the midfield.

Momo Sissoko anyone?

Agree1

17 Oct 2026 07:59:03
Jude Law to play Bill Shankly in a new series from a the writer of Adolescence. Covering his reign as Liverpool manager. Can't wait will be cracking.

17 Oct 2026 11:38:12
I was just thinking to myself the other day, what a story it is and why something like this hasn't been done yet. Finally, there will be something on TV I actually want to watch.

Agree4

17 Oct 2026 13:22:17
Should have cast Daniel Craig, better actor and a Liverpool fan.

Agree5

17 Oct 2026 13:40:49
I'm struggling to see it myself but I hope he and the script do the great man justice 🤞🏻.

Agree3

17 Oct 2026 14:26:18
Peter Mullan would be ideal as an older Shanks. Great actor & Scottish no no dodgy Och ay the noo accent.
